Jessica Liggett, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and owner of Southwest Michigan Dermatology, with her main office in Portage, Michigan, and 3 other conveniently located offices to serve your needs.
Dr. Liggett practices dermatopathology and general dermatology, including the treatment of psoriasis, the cutaneous manifestations of connective tissue disorders, autoimmune bullous diseases, acne, skin cancer, warts, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Liggett graduated at the top of her class at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her dermatology residency training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where she received the C.S. Livingood Dermatology Award as the highest-ranked resident in her graduating class.
After residency, she stayed on as faculty at Henry Ford Hospital, where she practiced general and inpatient dermatology while serving as a clinical lecturer and supervising staff for residents in training.
She then completed a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado, under the instruction of James Fitzpatrick, MD, and Loren Golitz, MD. While there, she trained in advanced immunohistochemical analysis of skin biopsies, including direct immunofluorescence techniques.
In 2010, Dr. Liggett became board-certified in dermatology.
Dr. Liggett, her husband, Ben, and two children recently moved back to the Kalamazoo area. Both she and her husband grew up in Southwest Michigan and are graduates of Mattawan High School. Her interests include golf, running, fishing, baking, and entertaining.
